Pena agreed to a minor league contract with the Mets and should be in Major League camp when the lockout ends.
Fantasy Impact
If he makes the big league roster, Pena could provide bullpen depth for the Mets. The now 32-year old only pitched one and two-thirds innings last year but posted a 4.05 ERA with a 25.2 percent strikeout rate in 2020. Pena has not started a game since 2019 but started seven in 2019 and 17 games in 2018. Pena could get a few holds but won't factor into the late innings.
The Angels placed RHP Felix Pena on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain.
Fantasy Impact
Pena has been dealing with the injury for a couple of weeks but isn't expected to be sidelined for long. He'll pitch in middle relief once he's ready to return.
Angels' RP Felix Pena will undergo an MRI to check on a possible hamstring issue.
Fantasy Impact
In 2019 and 2020, Pena has ranked 2nd and 3rd respectively in innings pitched by a relief pitcher for the Halos. Suffice it to say, if Pena has to miss time due to a hamstring injury, the Angels' bullpen will definitely feel his absence. Details on his injury are not likely to be available until tomorrow, so check back for more updates.
Felix Peña agreed to a one-year, $1.1 million deal with the Angels to avoid arbitration.
Fantasy Impact
Peña was arbitration eligible for the first time this winter. He'll work out of the Angels bullpen in 2021.
Angels reliever Felix Pena was called upon to pitch the 9th inning in a 5-2 game on Wednesday and secured his second save of the season. Pena pitched a scoreless inning, allowing one hit without any strikeouts.
Fantasy Impact
The 30-year-old veteran reliever with a 4.41 career ERA picked up just the third save of his career today. It’s become increasingly difficult to predict which reliever Joe Maddon will call upon for the next save chance for the Angels. This bullpen seems like a stay-away for fantasy purposes, but Mike Mayers still seems to the be the best option moving forward.
