Enrique Bradfield Jr. gains 12 pounds in offseason

Orioles prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr. gained 12 pounds after a winter in the gym.

Fantasy Impact

Bradfield, a first-round pick in 2023, quickly moved up to Double-A last season. He added weight this offseason heading into this year. “I just feel like that’s going to help me be more consistent, just in the way I feel from a body standpoint over the course of a long season,” Bradfield said. “Just being able to deliver the bat a little bit better and more consistent through the zone, move a little bit cleaner, that’s kind of where I’m hoping it shows the most.”

Enrique Bradfield Jr. elite speed 'could have him on fast track'

Orioles prospect Enrique Bradfield Jr. is showing out early in Orioles camp.

Fantasy Impact

The No. 17 pick in the 2023 Draft out of Vanderbilt, Bradfield Jr. is impressing as a base runner and defensively in the outfield early in Spring Training games. “He’s played some great defense,” manager Brandon Hyde said. “He’s made two or three really great catches, showcasing his speed in the outfield. I heard that he was a plus defender, he’s been showing that so far.” He went through three minor league levels with Baltimore last season, finishing the year in High-A where he stole 25 bases in 25 games, while hitting .291 with 26 walks. “I thought it was a great experience to get out there, to meet the guys in the organization and to start seeing the way the Baltimore Orioles, what we do as an organization,” Bradfield said of his first taste of professional baseball. “Learning about the processes to get ready for the big leagues ... at each level it intensifies.” The 2025 season is likely the target for Bradfield Jr. to make his MLB debut.
