Craig Gentry was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a rib injury, Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports.

Manager Buck Showalter said that it's not a long-term setback, but that Gentry will likely miss more than the required 10 days. Fantasy owners can move on from the outfielder who does not play every day for the Orioles.

Gentry collected a single Sunday, raising his average to .300 in his past 15 games. After hitting pretty well in June, he’s managed to bring his average up to .243 on the season. While he hits for next to no power, he has managed to steal ten bases on the year, and if he continues to hit at the rate he has in June, he could be worth a pickup as a steal specialist in deeper leagues.

Gentry got the start on Tuesday in right field and managed collect a couple base hits. After Tuesday night's game, he managed to raise his batting average to an even .250. Amazingly, he is still without a home run in his 51 games this season. He does have 10 steals on the season, which is nothing to sneeze at, but it is a very empty stolen base contribution. Take a hard look on the wire to see if there is someone with better counting stats or production in another category before picking up Gentry.
