Conor Gillaspie stroked a three-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give the Giants a 3-0 win over the Mets and lead San Francisco to the NLDS against the Cubs. Gillaspie finished 2-for-4 and now has a hit in six straight appearances. He finished the season with a .262 batting average.
Fantasy Impact
Gillaspie has scored in five of his last six games and will continue to get playing time with Eduardo Nunez on the mend. This was Gillaspie's first playoff appearance and he has never faced the probable Game One starter for the Cubs, Jon Lester.
San Francisco Giants 3B Conor Gillaspie was 1-for-2 with one RBI in Friday's loss to the San Diego Padres.
Fantasy Impact
It was the first his for Gillaspie in his last six games played and he doesn't figure to have much of an impact from a fantasy perspective. He is getting more playing time while regular 3B Matt Duffy is injured.
Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-5 with 2 runs in the White Sox 10-7 loss to the Brewers. Gillaspie was one of four players to have multiple hits in the game.
Fantasy Impact
Gillaspie has been one of the better hitters in the White Sox lineup this season alongside Jose Abreu and Avisial Garcia. His lack of power hinders his fantasy impact, but for contact he is pretty consistent.
In one of the bigger wins of the season for the White Sox, 3B Conor Gillaspie had a clutch triple to break the game open against the rival Tigers. Gillaspie went 2-for-3 in the game with 2 RBI.
Fantasy Impact
The White Sox desperatly needed to have a big hit as they continued to leave runners on base, which has been a enormous issue in the 2015 campaign. Gillaspie's triple got the White Sox to five runs, which they had not done in nearly two weeks. Gillaspie has been struggling like the rest of the team thus far, but showed last season to be an above average contact hitter.
Conor Gillaspie did not do anything at the plate again. He went 0-for-3 and grounded into a double-play. Gillaspie has been unproductive at the plate thus far this season.
Fantasy Impact
Conor Gillaspie's plate performance on Wednesday was as loud as the fans at Camden Yards; quiet. With an empty ballpark, Gillaspie also came up empty. Gillaspie has done little to show he deserves any fantasy recognition. Over the last five games he has gone 2-for-17 with a .118 batting average. Gillaspie has a combined batting average of .143 on the season and it is doubtful that will improve any time soon.
