Chris Young allowed five runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings. He allowed two homers, struck out three, and walked one.
Fantasy Impact
For some unknown reason, Ned Yost keeps trotting Young out there every fifth day while Ian Kennedy is on the DL. The Royals offense has bailed Young out twice recently, but Young is nowhere near rosterable in any fantasy format.
Chris Young went three innings against the Rays, letting up 4 runs on seven hits. He struck out two and walked four.
Fantasy Impact
This outing was expected from Young, and was fortunate to be bailed out by his offense and bullpen. He is just a fill-in until Ian Kennedy returns from the DL. Ignore Young in all formats.
It was one of those games you were just waiting for from Chris Young. He surrendered two home runs over 4 2/3 innings pitched. The only good thing was that they were both solo shots and he did not allow any other runs.
Fantasy Impact
Even though Young gets the ball every fifth day and sometimes in a good spot to get a win, Young really is not desirable for fantasy options. Unless you are in a very deep league, avoid him at all costs.
Chris Young was effective through five innings on Tuesday. The only blemish was a two-run home run by Neil Walker in the fourth inning. Young struck out four and walked three batters.
Fantasy Impact
Chris Young does not really offer too much fantasy value, as he relies too much on getting outs via fly balls. He had eight fly ball outs while surrendering a home run ball. In the short time, you could get away with Young, but for the long haul, he will burn you more often than not.
Chris Young saw two balls sail out of the ballpark against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. Young gave up a total of six hits and four runs.
Fantasy Impact
Chris Young really should be an afterthought at this point for season-long leagues as he allows just too many home runs to be a viable option. For DFS purposes, Young will have to be matchup dependent.
