Carlos Peguero

Carlos Peguero hit a two-run home run off of Matt Andriese in the fourth inning of tonights 7-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. It was Peguero's fourth home run of the season.

Peguero is hitting just .226 on the year, but does provide the occasional offensive firework. Still, he is not seeing enough regular playing time to consider in any format.

Peguero hit a pair of solo shots, one off of Astros starter Samuel Deduno in the 2nd inning, and another off of reliever Will Harris in the 7th inning. Peguero also singled and scored three times on the evening.

Carlos Peguero is making the most of his opportunity at the big league level as he went 1-for-2 tonight with a run scored in the Rangers 8-2 win over the Angels.

Fantasy Impact

Peguero was called up from Triple-A Round Rock when Ryan Rua went down with a sprained ankle and has done a great job so far, collecting five hits in 12 at-bats (.417) including three doubles. He's also walked four times and stolen a base.

The Rangers recalled outfielder Carlos Peguero from AAA Round Rock, and promptly inserted him into the starting lineup in right field. Peguero went 2-5 with an RBI, run scored, and a strikeout.

Fantasy Impact

The ZiPS projection system is extremely bullish on the 28 year-old Peguero, forecasting an 18 home run season if given regular playing time. If you're extremely desperate, it's not a horrible idea to play the left-handed Peguero against right-handers, as he has considerable power.
