This was not a surprise. In two starts with the Indians, Bruce Chen has allowed nine runs on 17 hits in just 6 1/3 innings. TJ House is expected to rejoin the rotation when he becomes eligible to come off the DL.

Bruce Chen has tossed 31 innings in Triple-A this season with a 1.74 ERA and 23 strikeouts. He was dismal for the Royals last year but in 2013 he was a serviceable pitcher to have on your roster (3.27 ERA in 15 starts). With TJ House on the DL, there is a chance that Chen sticks in the rotation.
