Moss came over from the Royals in late January, but his inclusion in the trade seemed more of a way for the A's to also add Ryan Buchter. With several notable sluggers still on the free agent market, it is unlikely that Moss will be claimed on waivers, and unclear if he will find another job in MLB. Moss has stated that he will retire if he isn't offered a major-league job somewhere, so this could be the end of the line for the slugger.

Moss has been hot over the past two weeks, hitting .282 with four homers and 13 RBIs. If you are desperate to chase the hot bat during the stretch run, Moss is under strong consideration. Moss now has 22 homers, but only 49 RBIs.

He did hit 28 homers last year and is up to 21 this year, so he is definitely capable of this late season power surge. Try to ignore the .210 average and 45 RBIs for the year, though.
