Ben Paulsen scores twice, hitting. .326 on season

Paulsen went 2-for-4 with two singles and two runs in the Rockies' 9-4 loss the Pirates on Tuesday night.

Fantasy Impact

Paulsen got the start at first base against righty Gerrit Cole as Mark Reynolds rode the bench. He has slashed .350/.409/.600 over his last seven games, showing patience at the plate and solid contact skills. Despite manager Walt Weiss' penchant for platooning, Paulsen has three hits in three at-bats so far against lefties. He could be sat tonight versus Pirates lefty Jon Niese so pay attention to the lineup.

Ben Paulsen golfs three-run blast in Rockies win

Paulsen went 1-for-3 with a three-run HR and a walk in the Rockies' 5-1 win over the Reds on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact

Paulsen literally "golfed" his HR in the eighth inning of Reds reliever Jumbo Diaz driving home Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado. He will continue to see playing time in LF and 1B especially against righties. His ownership rate of 20% should continue to rise.

Ben Paulsen collects RBI in Rockies win

Paulsen went 1-for-3 with a RBI in the Rockies' 6-1 win over Cubs on Friday afternoon.

Fantasy Impact

Paulsen got back-to-back starts this season as he's faired well against righties in his short career. He's hitting .318 so far and should be a solid contributor in R, H, AVG, and RBI especially with teammate Charlie Blackmon on the DL.

Ben Paulsen starts in left, drives in run

Paulsen went 1-for-3 with a RBI, walk and two strikeouts in the Rockies' 11-6 win over the Giants on Thursday.

Fantasy Impact

Paulsen got the start for the injured Charlie Blackmon as he's a perfect matchup against righties. He's hitting .316 on this young season and should see more at-bats as the season progresses. He isn't a thumper, more gap-to-gap type of power. His .815 OPS last year against righties indicates that he could be a sneaky play in DFS.

Ben Paulsen drives in run; establishes sleeper status

Ben Paulsen went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Colorado's 3-2 loss at the hands of the Royals. He is now 4-for-12 with 6 RBI in Spring Training.

Fantasy Impact

Paulsen has established himself as a sleeper option for 2016. He is gaining some momentum with more playing time this spring. Paulsen hit all 11 of his home runs with 42 RBI off of right handers last season, and figures to pencil in as the Rockies' starting first baseman. If your fantasy team has a reliable first baseman, Paulsen is worth a pick at the end of the draft to deploy against RHP. Plus, another regular Coors Field bat with some pop never hurt anyone.
