Alexi Amarista was the only offense the Padres got on Thursday afternoon, going 2-for-3 with two singles and a strike out. The Padres had three hits total and scored only one run in the three game series against the Phillies.
Fantasy Impact
It's unsure who the Padres will send back to the minors after Tyson Ross comes off the disabled list, but Amarista is certainly making a case for it not to be him by hitting .455 since his call up.
Amarista went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the 9-3 victory.
Fantasy Impact
It was a nice game and he has had a few this season but overall he is not producing much. On top of the lack of counting stats, he is batting .207 for the season.
Amarista went 2-for-4 in the 5-2 defeat. He hit a triple and then tied the game in the ninth inning with a two run HR. The Marlins answered back in the bottom of the ninth to win it but it was still a big day personally for Alexi.
Fantasy Impact
He is not a big time offensive player. He does have the potential to play some weak fantasy positions based on your league settings. Depending on what positions your league allows him, there are some deeper leagues where he may be viable.
Alexi Amarista came off the bench to go 1-for-3 with the game winning RBI.
Fantasy Impact
Ok, he has been getting hits lately at a higher rate than usual and if he was likely to keep up his current hot streak, I would upgrade him. Sadly, nothing in his career to this point suggests he will suddenly turn into a consistently solid BA player. He is valuable to the Padres for his versatility but in fantasy he just simply is not a shallow or medium league player.
