Alberto Callaspo has been getting majority of the playing time at third base when Justin Turner is out of the lineup. Turner is now listed as day-to-day with a leg infection.

Turner isn't projected to be out long and even if he was, Callaspo wouldn't be an option to stream in fantasy leagues. He plays solid defense but has limited upside on offense.

Callaspo replaced Turner when he went down with a knee injury after hitting a foul ball into his knee. Callaspo promptly went 0 - 2 in his first two at-bats.

Fantasy owners should only expect to see Callaspo get a good amount of playing time when the valuable Justin Turner is down with an injury.

A lot of people are guessing but the teams are not disclosing details until MLB approves the deal. It is known that Juan Uribe will go to Atlanta while Callaspo ends up in Los Angeles.

Alberto Callaspo was one of the bright spots in the Braves 4-3 loss to the New York Mets on Sunday. Callaspo went 2-for-3 with a run scored and is now hitting .538 with a 1.215 OPS after the first week of the season.

Callaspo, in his tenth Major League season, hit .223 with 39 RBI in 404 at-bats last season. Never a strong offensive player, Callaspo has a career batting average of .268 with 51 home runs and 355 RBI. Fantasy owners should proceed with caution with Callaspo, despite the strong start.

Callaspo is quietly doing very well at the plate so far this season, hitting .538 thus far. He lost his starting second base position to Jace Peterson after he showed up for Spring Training out of shape and followed that up with poor performances. He is quickly redeeming himself.

If he gets regular playing time it might be wise to start monitoring the situation. Right now he is platooning with Chris Johnson at third base, but things can and will change.
