A.J. Cole picks up his first save of the season

A.J. Cole allowed one walk but fired a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save Wednesday against Atlanta.

Fantasy Impact

Cole came into the game with a three-run lead, and he managed to shut the door after issuing a one-out walk. The 29-year-old reliever will probably not see to many save chances in the Jays bullpen.

A.J. Cole picks up a save on Thursday

A.J. Cole allowed one hit but recorded the final out in the second game of the Blue Jays' doubleheader against the Phillies on Thursday to earn the save.

Fantasy Impact

Cole picked up his first save of the season and has a a 0.82 ERA with nine strikeouts across 11 innings. Cole has mainly been used in a setup role out of the bullpen and is not really a candidate for saves with Anthony Bass holding down the role with Ken Giles injured.

A.J. Cole blows save opportunity on Sunday

A.J. Cole allowed one unearned run on two hits over 1 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Rays. He was charged with a blown save.

Fantasy Impact

Cole has yet to give up an earned run over 9 2/3 innings this season. The 28-year-old righty is working mainly as a middle reliever for the Blue Jays this season and is not worth adding in fantasy leagues.

A.J. Cole fares much better in second start Wednesday

A.J. Cole allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks in a no-decision against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday. He struck out five.

Fantasy Impact

Wednesday's performance was a far cry from Cole's first start of the season when he allowed ten runs and could not get out of the fourth inning against the same Braves squad. Both runs this time around came on solo home runs to Ozzie Albies and Kurt Suzuki. He is scheduled to start against the New York Mets his next time out, though he may not be long for the starting rotation with Jeremy Hellickson nearly ready to join the team.

A.J. Cole gives up one earned run in win over Marlins

A.J. Cole (2-4) allowed two runs, just one earned, on five hits and four walks while striking out five batters through 5 2/3 innings during Monday's win over Miami.

Fantasy Impact

Cole has only given up one earned run in each of his last two starts. But the 25-year-old righty has had four walks in each of those games. Cole's good fortune will run out if he continues to have control problems. And until he cuts down the walks he cannot be trusted in anything but deep fantasy leagues.
