The Milwaukee Brewers concluded the season sweep of the Phillies by annihilating Aaron Harang on Sunday. Lasting just 4.2 innings, Harang allowed 6 runs, 7 hits and a walk. Harang has now seen his ERA for the month of August balloon to 10.45.
Fantasy Impact
After such a promising start to the season, Harang has become a useless fantasy commodity. Since June 4th, Harang has allowed less then 4 runs just once since June 1st and hasn't improved much by any statistical measure. Continue to avoid at all costs.
Once again, Aaron Harang was on the hook for a "L" Wednesday night. The Milwaukee Brewers are the latest team to get the best of Harang who allowed 8 runs on 14 hits in 5 innings of work. Coincidentally, that makes 8 straight loses for the veteran after a promising start tot he season.
Fantasy Impact
It looks like the clock has struck midnight on Harang after a glorious start. Fantasy owners that are still trying to eek out some type of production at this point are most likely also trying to earn the first pick in their draft next year. Teams that are still trying to win in any format are better off cutting ties until Harang shows any type of life.
Aaron Harang once again faltered, this time against the Washington Nationals. The Nat's bats put together 4 runs over the first six frames before Harang was relieved of his duties. Te runs proved to be a byproduct of some very hit-able pitches, as the Nationals managed to put together 9 hits against the veteran right-hander.
Fantasy Impact
Aaron Harang's early dominance appears to be gone as he has surrendered at-least 4 runs over each of his last 5 games including a 7 run disaster against the Cincinnati Reds. With an XFIP that has steadily grown from 3.81 n April to 5.17 in June, now is the time to see if there is any perceived value left in your league for Harang and make a trade.
The Reds offense feasted on Aarong Harang, notching 7 hits which they turned into 7 runs over 6 innings of work against Harang.
Fantasy Impact
Aaron Harang's miraculous start tot he season should have been expected to regress closer to his career numbers. That being said, such a dramatic swing should have fantasy owners starting to look closer at Harang. In 2 June starts, Harang has allowed 12 runs while allowing just 7 in all of May. Don't jump to any conclusions yet but it may be worth looking into a contingency plan.
He may not have earned the win on Saturday, but it was not due to Aaron Harang's effort. 6 innings of 2 run baseball while also recording 7 strikeouts should be good enough to get the W more often then not but Harang fell victim to a punch-less Phillies offense once again.
Fantasy Impact
This start extends Harang's streak to 6 consecutive games of 6 innings or more without allowing more then 2 runs. Harang has been blistering hot to start the year and although he is currently outperforming his FIP, xFIP, and hs SERRA scores, there is nothing wrong with riding the hot streak.
