Orioles’ Brandon Hyde says Colton Cowser’s thumb bent “all the way back” on his slide into first base in the seventh, prompting him to pinch hit Gary Sánchez for him in the ninth.

Jordan Westburg was available only in an emergency situation after being held out of the lineup.
