Max Scherzer resumes throwing after MRI clears thumb issue

by Bruno Mulé | Blue Jays Correspondent | Thu, Mar 13th 11:14am EDT

Max Scherzer has resumed playing catch after an MRI on his right thumb showed no structural concerns, per Keegan Matheson of MLB.com. (Keegan Matheson)

Fantasy Impact:

Scherzer was scratched from Thursday’s start due to thumb soreness, but he is expected to throw a bullpen session Friday or Saturday before making another Grapefruit League start. The veteran right-hander has been dominant this spring, posting a 14:0 K:BB over nine innings while allowing just two runs. Assuming no setbacks, he remains on track for the start of the regular season.
