Richie Shaffer rips pinch-hit home run in Rays' defeat

Pinch-hitting for Evan Longoria in the 8th inning, Rays prospect third baseman Richie Shaffer blasted his third home run in the majors, as the Rays were defeated 10-4 by the Red Sox on Saturday.
Fantasy Impact:
The Rays are essentially out of it at this point, and we may start to see more playing time for the youngster Shaffer the rest of the way. Shaffer has a good bat, but it hasn't translated in his short stint in the majors to this point. He was called up in August, but since he's been promoted at the start of September, he's hitting .182/.250/.364 with two homers and two RBI in 22 at-bats.
