Ian Happ Delivers Power, But Cubs Fall Short
by Matthew Adam | Cubs Correspondent | Tue, Jun 18th 6:40am EDT
Ian Happ went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI in the Cubs' narrow 7-6 loss to the Giants.
Fantasy Impact:
His performance included a walk and he scored once himself. Despite the Cubs' defeat, Happ's ability to drive in runs and his knack for getting on base were bright spots. His season has been a bit of a struggle with a batting average of just .229, but his power numbers are respectable, with eight homers now on the year. Fantasy managers should note that while his average might be a drag, his ability to contribute in home runs, RBI, and walks can still make him a valuable asset in deeper leagues or formats that reward walks and on-base percentage.
