Kyle Hendricks delivered a mixed performance in the Cubs' 5-1 loss to the Giants, tossing seven innings while allowing two earned runs on five hits and a walk.

He also struck out four batters. Despite this seemingly solid line, the outing did little to reassure fantasy managers given his troubling 6.87 ERA and 1.49 WHIP for the season. Hendricks's ability to eat innings was on display, but his lack of dominant stuff, evidenced by a mere 6.7 K/9 rate, continues to cap his fantasy upside. Owners should remain cautious, as his high ERA and WHIP are damaging, particularly without the offset of high strikeout totals or wins.
