Baltimore Orioles outfielder Travis Snider was released on Saturday by the Orioles. Snider was designated for assignment on August 7, as the team called up outfielder Junior Lake. (Baltimore Sun )
Fantasy Impact:
Snider was acquired by the Orioles from the Pirates for a pair of pitching prospects last winter. The goal was for him to fill in for the departed Nelson Cruz or Nick Markakis, but a combination of outfield depth and inconsistent play on his part has now gotten him released. Snider's stat line reads 69 games played, 50 hits, three home runs, 23 runs scored and a batting average of .273.
