Steve Geltz earns second save on Wednesday
by Jamison Malasko | Thu, Jun 4th 2:09pm EDT
Rays pitcher Steven Geltz picked up his second save on Wednesday, walking a batter but recording the final two outs in his team's 6-5, 10-inning win over the Angels. Closer Brad Boxberger blew a save opportunity for the first time this season in the ninth inning, and after throwing 32 pitches in the frame, there was no question about leaving him in to get more than three outs. After Xavier Cedeno retired the first batter of the inning, Geltz came in and immediately walked a batter before recording a pair of outs.
Fantasy Impact:
Geltz owns a 2.95 ERA and 25:11 K:BB ratio in 21 1/3 innings. He doesn't get many save opportunities so is not too relevant in most fantasy leagues.
