Paul Fry gets the loss on Friday
by Lucas Babits-Feinerman | Padres Correspondent | Sat, Jul 3rd 12:54pm EDT
Paul Fry allowed one run on one hit, one walk, and one strikeout in one-third of an inning.
Fantasy Impact:
Fry has been shakey recently; since June 18th, his ERA has skyrocketed from 1.78 to 3.77. But he hasn't been terrible over that stretch. Instead, he's been hurt by managerial decisions and inherited runners scoring. He entered Friday's game with one out in the bottom of the ninth, walked Shohei Ohtani, who stole second base and scored on a Jared Walsh single. Because of Fry's recent struggles, the door is open for other Orioles relievers to take the closer's role. Cole Sulser might be the new favorite for saves in the Orioles bullpen; stay tuned.
