Luis Arraez undergoes thumb surgery

Luis Arraez tweeted out on his personal account that he underwent surgery on his thumb after pushing through an injury for half of the season. (Luis Arraez on Twitter)

Arraez added that he played through the pain. It would explain his struggles in the postseason where he hit just .226 after still hitting .340 in September. Arraez said the procedure went smooth, so he should be fully healthy heading into spring training.
