Matt Gelb and Evan Drellich of The Athletic report that former No. 1 pick Mark Appel is attempting a comeback with the Phillies. (The Athletic)
Fantasy Impact:
The 29-year-old stepped away from baseball three years ago and has since been training at Driveline Baseball. The No. 1 pick from 2013, Appel struggled mightily in the minors throughout his career. This would be a great story if he's able to make it back to competitive baseball, though.
