Chase Whitley sent to Triple-A camp

A very strong spring, a 1.17 ERA over 15 1/3 innings of work, was not enough to keep Whitley on the big league roster. If is presumed that Esmil Rodgers will be the long reliever for the Yankees to begin 2015. (Yankees PR Department on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Whitley may have not had the ability to hold a roster spot year long, but he showed enough to prove his fantasy value as a streamable option. On top of his solid spring training statistics, he only walked 2.1 batters per nine innings in 75 2/3 innings pitched in 2014. He did allow 11.2 hits per nine, leading to a 1.48 WHIP, but his FIP (4.14) was more than a run better than his ERA (5.23). Whitley can serve as depth for the Yankees with an injury prone rotation and will get the opportunity to start in Triple-A Scranton Wilkes-Barre.
