Brian Dozier signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets following his release from the San Diego Padres earlier this month. (Anthony DiComo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Dozier was let go by the Padres in mid-July after he wasn't included in their 60-man player pool. He won't be on the Mets' Opening Day roster but will train at the team's alternate facility in Brooklyn, NY. He's a solid backup option at 2B and will likely make an appearance later on in the shortened season. He's fallen off the fantasy radar the last few years but Dozier still has some pop left in his bat. He swatted 20 home runs across 416 Ab's as a member of the Nationals in 2019.
