The Minnesota Twins and outfielder Jordan Schafer agreed to a 1 year/$1.55 million contract to avoid arbitration. Schafer is competing with Aaron Hicks for the center field starting spot. The only player left for the Twins to sign is pitcher Brian Duensing. (Mike Berardino on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Schafer was traded to the Twins during the Trade Deadline last season and finished off strong with a .285 batting average and 15 stolen bases over 130 at-bats. Fantasy owners should keep eyes on Schafer during Spring Training to see if he wins the starting position.
