Jadeveon Clowney inks two-year deal with Panthers

The Carolina Panthers and veteran edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney have agreed on a two-year deal. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Clowney has spent the last five seasons playing on one-year deals, and he chose the Panthers over the New York Jets, who were unwilling to offer him that stability. For Clowney, this is somewhat of a return home, as he grew up and went to college in South Carolina and will now play in North Carolina. In a career that started slow as he struggled to live up to pre-draft hype, Clowney has become a steady contributor (10 seasons, 52.5 sacks, 99 TFLs) and will provide for a pass-rush-needy Panthers team sans Brian Burns.
