The New York Mets have signed reliever Jorge Lopez to a one-year contract worth $2 million.

Lopez was dynamite between the Orioles and Twins in the 2022 season, tossing a 2.54 ERA across 67 appearances while racking up 23 saves in the process. Disaster struck in 2023, however, as the former starter tossed a 5.95 ERA in 61 appearances between the Twins, Marlins, and Orioles.
