Tua Tagovailoa skipping 'majority' of voluntary workouts

by Jordan Epp | Dolphins Correspondent | Fri, May 17th 9:28am EDT

Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa has reportedly skipped the "majority" of the team's voluntary offseason work over the first month ahead of voluntary OTAs. (Jonathan Jones, CBS Sports)

Fantasy Impact:

These absences are believed to be tied to his pending contract extension, as Tagovailoa seeks a deal as he enters 2024 set to play on his $23.171 million fifth-year option. While it can be rationalized that Tagovailoa's absences are insignificant considering work at this point is voluntary, CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones mentions that the former Alabama QB has been present for the majority of his voluntary offseason work through his first four NFL seasons. With Jared Goff's extension painting a picture, Tagovailoa's search for future security could bleed into training camp if he's willing to stomach any potential fines.
