Thomas went seven-under-par on Saturday to climb into the top five but he could not replicate that performance on Sunday. The 29-year-old won the PGA Championship over Will Zalatoris for his only solo win of the 2021-22 PGA season but he also turned in ten T10 finishes to wind up fifth in the final FedExCup rankings.

Homa started slowly but set the East Lake course record with an eight-under-par finish in the second round. The 30-year-old Californian built off of this momentum and turned in rounds of four-under-par on Saturday and Sunday to climb into a top-five finish in the FedExCup playoffs. This yielded a $3 million purse.

Schauffele was among the betting favorites to finally cement his legacy as the winner of the PGA Tour Championship and FedExCup playoffs but a lackluster final two rounds kept him out of a higher finish. The 28-year-old Californian earned two solo wins this season and was one of the best iron players on the entire PGA Tour.

Scheffler appeared to have the FedExCup trophy on lock until a three-over meltdown on Sunday allowed Rory McIlroy to claim the top spot in the FedExCup standings. The 24-year-old South Korean continued playing an excellent brand of golf all weekend at East Lake. It was Im's fourth consecutive appearance at the PGA Tour Championship and definitely his best performance, as he stayed four-under-par in each of the final two rounds to wind up with the $6.5 million second-place purse.

The 33-year-old McIlroy was dialed in on Sunday, sinking birdies and nailing greens in regulation to bypass Scottie Scheffler's poor performance on the back-nine. McIlroy won two events this season, including the PGA Tour Championship, meaning he is the FedExCup champion for the third time in his career. McIlroy takes him the $18 million purse and will begin preparing for the Ryder Cup next month.
