Alexis Lafreniere has agreed to a seven-year, $52.15 million contract extension with the New York Rangers according to Elliotte Friedman. (Elliotte Friedman on Twitter)

Lafreniere gets rewarded by the Rangers after a breakout 2023-24 season in which the winger finished with 57 points (28 goals, 29 assists) over 82 games. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 draft is finally living up to expectations and is now part of a Rangers squad built to contend for the foreseeable future.
