Elias Pettersson has agreed to an eight-year, $92.8 million contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks according to Pierre LeBrun. (Pierre LeBrun on Twitter)

Pettersson was going to be eligible for restricted free agency after this season, but will now remain a core piece of an explosive Vancouver club for head coach Rick Tocchet for the foreseeable future. The center is a dynamic offensive weapon for fantasy managers, posting a 1.21 point per game average (29 goals, 46 assists) in 62 games so far this season.
