The NHL and NHLPA provided a joint media release on Wednesday morning announcing that Bobby Ryan will be taking part in the NHL/NHLPA player assistance program. As a result, he will be away from the team for an undetermined period of time. (Hailey Salvian on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The player assistance program was implemented in order for NHL players to have access to receive assistance if they are dealing with personal hardships such as addiction or mental health issues. Hopefully Ryan receives the help he needs and will be back on the ice soon. Until then, the Senators will be without the thirteen-year veteran that had contributed four points in 16 games so far this season.
