Curtis McElhinney earns shutout over Penguins

McElhinney’s shutout was his first of the season. The Canes continue to play good hockey and get the 4-0 win to start off a season-long five game road trip.

McElhinney made 23 saves to shut down the Penguins. The 35 year-old continues to be quite serviceable since being claimed off waivers from Toronto early in the season. In 19 games this season McElhinney is 12-6-1 with a GAA of 2.37 and a save percentage of .918. It was his 9 career shutout.
