The Cincinnati Bengals are formally placing the franchise tag on WR Tee Higgins, keeping him on a one-year, fully guaranteed deal for 2025 as they look to reach a long-term extension. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: During the 2024 offseason, Higgins requested a trade from the team — now, he is set to play on the franchise tag for a second consecutive season as the two sides continue to pursue a long-term deal. While his future in Cincinnati is difficult to predict, this heavily impacts the free agency market as he was expected to be the top earner at the position. He finished last season with 911 yards and 10 TDS in just 12 games, showing the impact he can have when healthy. This only further boosts all offensive players in Cincinnati in fantasy football as the environment remains potent (No. 6 scoring offense in 2024).

The Eagles released CB Darius Slay Jr. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Slay said a couple of weeks ago he is wanting to play one more season. The Eagles will save $4.3 million against the cap with his release. He will be designated as a post-June 1 release

Rams head coach Sean McVay said the financial terms of Matthew Stafford’s contract will be on a year-to-year basis. (Source: Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Stafford will take his future on a year-to-year basis with the Rams and in the NFL in general. For now, he'll remain their starter heading into next season.

The Packers re-signed Isaiah McDuffie to a two-year, $8 million contract. (Source: Jeremy Fowler on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: McDuffie has earned a bigger role in the Packers linebacker room over the past couple of seasons. He can earn up to $9.5 million in the deal.

The Bengals released OG Alex Cappa. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Cappa struggled for much of last season, allowing a career-high eight sacks. His release will open up $8 million in cap space for the Bengals as they look to sign Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins to extensions this offseason.

The Jets are not expected to bring WR Allen Lazard back. (Source: Connor Hughes on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Lazard signed a four-year, $44 million contract a couple seasons ago in 2023. He wanted to reunite with Aaron Rodgers, but it didn't work out for either side. Lazard will likely be a cap casualty this offseason.

The Bills elected not to tender TE Quintin Morris. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Buffalo still has interest in bringing Morris back as a free agent. He made three starts last season as a receiver and blocker.

The Jets are not expected to re-sign TE Tyler Conklin. (Source: Connor Hughes)

Fantasy Impact: Conklin caught 51 passes for 449 yards and four touchdowns last season with the Jets. He'll enter the free agent market.

The Panthers elected not to tender RB Raheem Blackshear, making him a free agent. (Source: Jeremy Fowler on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Blackshear would have been a restricted free agent if Carolina tendered him. He will enter free agency this offseason. He'll likely compete for a special teams role on another team.

Deebo Samuel Sr. has been traded to the Washington Commanders in exchange for a fifth-round draft pick. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It was previously reported that several teams were pursuing a trade for Samuel, and now the Commanders are able to get a deal done with the 49ers to acquire the veteran wideout. They are sending a fifth-round pick to San Francisco in exchange for him, and this deal will be good for QB Jayden Daniels coming off of a Rookie of the Year campaign in his first season at the helm for Washington. This is less than ideal for the fantasy value of Terry McLaurin, but there should be enough to go around on this offense to support both of them in the 2025-2026 NFL season.

The Rams signed OT Alaric Jackson to a three-year, $57 million deal. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The deal includes $35 million guaranteed. It was reported that the two sides were close to a new deal, and it now becomes official for Matthew Stafford’s blindside protector.

The Raiders informed QB Desmond Ridder they won’t tender him as a restricted free agent. (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Ridder will become an unrestricted free agent. He has 18 career starts for Atlanta and Las Vegas. It seems unlikely he will find a starting role in free agency. Ridder will likely compete for a backup role with another team.

The Lions plan to release veteran LB Jalen Reeves-Maybin when the new league year begins (Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Reeves-Maybin made his first Pro Bowl and was second-team All-Pro in 2023. He should have no problem finding a new team in free agency.

The Seahawks have granted S Rayshawn Jenkins permission to seek a trade. (Source: Bob Condotta on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This comes as no surprise after Jenkins lost his starting role mid-season last year to Coby Bryant. Jenkins has a $4.89 million non-guaranteed salary in 2025. He could be released if he isn't traded.

Fantasy Impact: “I know Bo Nix can sling the ball,” Arroyo said. He said he has met Nix. Arroyo is not doing any of the workouts at the NFL Combine due to a knee injury, but he is still meeting with teams after impressing at the Senior Bowl.

The Chiefs are placing the franchise tag on OG Trey Smith. (Source: Albert Breer on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The number will be around $26 million for Smith. The two sides have been attempting to work out a long-term deal.

Travis Kelce has officially announced he is returning for the 2025 season. (Source: Ari Meirov on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Kelce texted Pat McAfee the news. McAfee said the “source” he reached out to regarding Kelce’s future replied to his text saying, “I’m coming back for sure. I’m gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop.” It was a down season for Kelce last year, hauling in 97 passes for 823 yards and three touchdown. His best days are likely behind him, but he'll still be a reliable target for Patrick Mahomes in the middle of the field.

Bills GM Brandon Beane said “we expect Matt Milano back at this point.” (Source: The Athletic)

Fantasy Impact: Milano has been limited to just nine games across the past two seasons due to various injuries. He had been considered to be a release candidate this offseason, but it sounds like Buffalo will retain him. He'll have the offseason to get fully healthy heading into training camp.

The Buccaneers have informed S Jordan Whitehead they’re not exercising his option bonus, making him a free agent. (Source: Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Whitehead returned to Tampa Bay last season where he began his career. He missed time during the year with a torn pec. He later injured his neck in a car crash. Whitehead is expected to be fully healthy well in time for next season.

Seahawks GM John Schneider said the team will meet with Tyler Lockett’s agents. (Source: Bob Condotta on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: When asked if he’d anticipate Lockett being back he said “I don’t know. We’ll see how that conversation goes.” Lockett is set for a big cap hit next season and the Seahawks need to open up cap space this offseason.
