Tom Nelson plays switcheroo with the Baltimore RavensBaltimore Ravens signed former Panther's safety Tom Nelson on Wednesday after waiving WR Cam Worthy. Nelson will switch from safety to play wide receiver, a rarity. Nelson has been around the NFL. He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009. After one year he bounced around landing with the Philly Eagles in 2011. He did not make the final roster cuts with the Chicago Bears in 2013 nor the Carolina Panthers in 2014.
Fantasy Impact
Nelson has not been in one place long enough to achieve recognizable stats. According to BaltimoreBeatdown.com, Nelson has only played a total of 24 games in three NFL seasons. He last played with the Eagles in 2011. He was a safety before coming to the Ravens. I don't see him making the roster, but if he does, it will be an interesting conversion.
