Ja'Marr Chase Week 2 Outlook - Bengals at Chiefs

By Mick Ciallela (Fantrax), Wed, Sep 11th 2024, 11:36pm EDT

Despite talk of a decreased workload in the wake of his preseason holdout, Ja'Marr Chase saw the field on 83 percent of Cincinnati's offensive snaps in Week 1. The problem is that it did not result in much fantasy production. Chase was held to just six grabs for 62 yards as the Bengals suffered a surprising loss at the hand of the New England Patriots. Cincinnati now has to regroup to face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2. These teams are very familiar with one another, having met five times including playoffs since January 2022. The Chiefs have gotten the better of Chase over the past four of those meetings. Chase has averaged just 61.8 receiving yards in those games, with one total touchdown. But with the status of Tee Higgins in doubt, Chase should see some extra targets this time around. That keeps him firmly on the WR1 radar despite the difficult matchup.
