Jonathan Taylor Week 2 Outlook - Colts at Packers

By Mick Ciallela (Fantrax), Wed, Sep 11th 2024, 5:29pm EDT

Jonathan Taylor found paydirt in Week 1, which salvaged his fantasy day. However, it was far from a dominant effort on his part. Taylor totaled just 48 yards on 16 carries and did not post a single breakaway run nor missed tackle forced. On the bright side, Taylor was on the field for 96 percent of Indianapolis' offensive snaps, so fantasy managers should chalk it up to a difficult matchup. Better days are surely ahead for Taylor, perhaps as soon as Week 2. The Colts are facing the same Green Bay Packers defense that just allowed Saquon Barkley to go off for 32.2 fantasy points last week. The Colts still have an elite offensive line that should be able to generate running lanes for Taylor. In addition, the threat of quarterback Anthony Richardson's ability to beat Green Bay with the deep ball as well as on the ground should keep the Packers' defense honest. Taylor should be the team's primary beneficiary. I expect Jonathan Taylor to bounce back in a big way in Week 2.
