Kelechi Osemele
OL -
Week 13 Outlook
Availability
Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports that Chiefs OL Kelechi Osemele is likely done for the season after tearing tendons in both of his knees in Sunday's Week 5 loss.
Fantasy Impact
His absence will surely hurt the Chiefs' offensive line. There is some suspicion that this could be a torn patellar tendon, which could wind up being a career-ending injury for Osemele.
Free agent OL Kelechi Osemele has agreed to terms on a one-year, up to $2M contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact
Osemele played for the Jets last season and now he gets a shot at protecting the most valuable asset in the NFL. He’ll fill the void left by Laurent Duvernay Tardif, M.D. on the Kansas City offensive line this season.
The Oakland Raiders bolstered their offensive line this offseason when they signed Kelechi Osemele from the Baltimore Ravens. Osemele is outstanding in pass protection but is also a force in the ground game. Offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave told the team's official website that Osemele is a "tremendous run blocker." “We’ve seen that on film when he was in Baltimore. He’s good in pass blocking. We anticipate his run blocking to help our run game be more productive.â€
Fantasy Impact
The Raiders finished 28th in the NFL in total rushing in 2015 with1,457 yards and seven touchdowns. Latavius Murray will benefit most in the wake of Kelechi Osemele's signing as he is the starting running back on an up and coming Raiders team. Coming from Baltimore, Osemele is accustomed to playing in an offense that emphasizes the run so the adjustment factor is slim for the veteran guard.
The Oakland Raiders have reached an agreement "in principle" with Baltimore Ravens OL Kelechi Osemele on Tuesday according to NFL Network's Rand Getlin. Terms of the deal are unavailable and will be finalized on Wednesday at the start of the new league year.
Fantasy Impact
Kelechi Osemele is one of the best offensive linemen in this year's' free agent class. With this pending acquisition, it is likely Donald Penn with depart from Oakland via free agency.
