Henry Melton
DT -
Week 17 Outlook
Availability
The Denver Broncos and DL Henry Melton agreed to terms on a deal that has not yet been disclosed.
Fantasy Impact
Melton adds solid interior defensive line depth on a Denver unit that had already lost Vance Walker last week to an ACL injury. Despite the question marks on their line, Denver's D/ST should still be regarded as the best in its class entering the 2016 fantasy football campaign.
Henry Melton is the sole pass rushing threat for the Cowboys with five sacks.
Fantasy Impact
Melton almost single handedly adds value to the Cowboys' defense with his pass rushing ability; the team only has 16 sacks this season, 28th in the NFL. The team ranks in the middle of the league both against the pass (14th) and the run (13th) and is also top-10 in the league with 10 interceptions, so if the Cowboys can generate a pass rush, they may merit an add in all formats. Melton may be a part of that change as he continues to clog the middle for the Cowboys as rookie DeMarcus Lawrence develops on the outside. The Cowboys have boosted their sack total over the past couple games and facing the Giants weak offensive line may allow Melton to make a difference in Week 12.
Melton, a former Pro Bowler with the Bears, could be a huge answer for the Cowboys on the defensive line.
Fantasy Impact
Henry Melton, dealing with a groin injury, has already shown that he can be disruptive for the Cowboys, as he leads the team with 1.5 sacks in limited play. He was the biggest name signed to the revamped defensive line and the Cowboys are looking for Melton to regain his Pro Bowl form from 2012. Melton may not be an IDP option, but, as he becomes healthy, the Cowboys may become a viable option as a team defense. The Cowboys defense is looking a lot better in 2014 than they did in 2013 and Melton can only add to the growth of the defense.
