Week 12 Outlook
Availability
Chris Williams was waived by the Bears on Wednesday to make room for kicker Jay Feely. Feely was brought in as an insurance policy if Robbie Gould cannot play Thursday against the Cowboys.
Fantasy Impact
Chris Williams has not practiced or played in two weeks with a hamstring injury. He had no fantasy value, and this move had to be made by Chicago incase Robbie Gould's quad injury keeps him out of the Thursday night game.
Chris Williams was held out of Monday's practice with a hamstring injury. Williams missed last Thursday's game against the Lions and has not practiced in two weeks.
Fantasy Impact
Chris Williams has no fantasy value. I would not be surprised if Williams is released as part of a roster move sometime soon. He lost his kick return and punt return duties to Marc Mariani.
Chris Williams (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. Chris Williams had a quiet day in the return game against the Vikings. He did not have any offensive targets.
Fantasy Impact
Chris Williams has been dealing with hamstring issues since his NFL career started. He has had more success lately in the return game. However, he has absolutely zero fantasy value; even in leagues that award fantasy points for return yards.
With the release of Santonio Holmes, Chris Williams will have the first chance as the Bears' punt returner. Williams had one return for 13 yards Sunday against the Packers. Williams also recorded his first NFL touchdown when he ran back a kick return late in the game.
Fantasy Impact
Chris Williams has absolutely no fantasy value. He does not see the field enough as a WR to warrant a roster spot; even if you are rewarded for return yards. Look elsewhere if you need a spot start in Week 11.
The Chicago Bears have promoted WR/KR Chris Williams off of the practice squad. He replaces KR Rashad Ross.
Fantasy Impact
Through the first 4 games, the Bears have been struggling with kick returns. Chicago is 26th in the NFL in kick returns with a 19.8 yard average. Williams is the third player to get a shot at replacing the legendary Devin Hester. The former CFL star will also be the WR5 on offense, but his primary role for now will be as kick returner.
