Bobby Rainey invisible in 27-23 win over Ravens
by John Camera | Sun, Oct 16th 9:33pm EDT
Bobby Rainey, acting as the Giants' primary third down back, only managed to gain 29 total yards. That included 13 rushing yards on six carries (2.2 ypc) and two receptions for 16 yards. Rainey was targeted in the passing game a total of three times.
Fantasy Impact:
Rainey followed up two promising performances while replacing Shane Vereen with a largely ineffective game against the Ravens. Rashad Jennings had more receptions than Rainey while Paul Perkins tied him with receptions and receiving yards. Its unknown how long Rainey will keep the reigns of the third down job with the rookie nipping at his heels. He ought to have it next week against Los Angeles but the Giants could look to go with the higher potential player after their Week 8 bye.
