Ryan Mallett impresses against Detroit

by Aaron Martinuzzi | Sun, Aug 28th 1:38pm EDT

Ravens' backup QB Ryan Mallett looked quite good against the Detroit Lions, completing 10 of 15 passing attempts for 112 yards and one touchdown. Mallett added two yards rushing on two attempts and one rushing touchdown, as well.

Fantasy Impact:

Mallett looked sharp against the Lions' defense, making good decisions with the football and throwing into a couple tight windows successfully. His size was an advantage on two quarterbacks sneaks, scoring a touchdown on his first and converted a first down in the red zone later in the game. It's highly, highly unlikely Mallett would displace incumbent starter Joe Flacco, but it looks like the Ravens should be in capable hands in the event their franchise QB goes down with an injury, as he did at the end of last season.
