Chris Long expected to sign with Patriots

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the New England Patriots and former Los Angeles Rams DE Chris Long agreed to terms on a one-year deal on Tuesday. Rapoport added that Long is Chandler Jones' replacement. Jones was traded to the Arizona Cardinals earlier in the day. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Following a handful of visits around the NFL, Chris Long signed with the Patriots on Tuesday. It will be the veteran pass rusher's best opportunity to win a championship in his eight-years as a pro. Long is a leader in the locker room and brings quality production on the football field. He finished last season with 19 total tackles, three sacks and a forced fumble over the course of 12 games.
