Eagles coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that Saquon Barkley will be rested for the team’s upcoming game. With the Eagles having already secured a playoff spot, the decision was made to focus on player health. Although Barkley has had a phenomenal season, surpassing 2,000 rushing yards, he will not be chasing any additional records in Week 17. (Ian Rapoport)
Fantasy Impact:
With over 2,000 rushing yards this year, Barkley has firmly re-established himself as one of the NFL’s top running backs. Given his elite production in both the rushing and receiving game, Barkley is likely to be one of the first running backs taken in fantasy drafts next season. His ability to handle a heavy workload, paired with his consistent big-play potential, makes him a strong contender for the RB1 spot in 2025. Fantasy managers should keep Barkley at the top of their draft boards, as he has proven to be a reliable, all-around back who can anchor any fantasy team.
