Fantasy Impact:
The much-maligned former Giants QB cleared waivers earlier this week and now has a chance to back up Sam Darnold. Given the other backup is currently Nick Mullens, the landing spot makes sense. Jones had stated a desire to join a potential playoff team, and Minnesota currently sits at 9-2 and is second in the NFC North. In 10 games with New York this season, Jones had an 8:7 TD-to-INT ratio with two rushing touchdowns. There is room for some optimism that HC Kevin O'Connell can transform Jones into a competent backup QB, given what he has managed with Darnold, but fantasy managers can continue to ignore Jones, even if and when he is elevated from the practice squad.
