The New York Jets have fired head coach Robert Saleh after a 2-3 start to the season. DC Jeff Ulbrich will be the interim HC. (Adam Schefter on X)
Fantasy Impact:
Amidst a disappointing start to the season, many wondered if OC Nathaniel Hackett could be fired in an attempt to spark the offense. But Saleh getting fired just five weeks into the season is a stunner. NFL teams with Super Bowl aspirations rarely make such a move this early, since doing so essentially admits they were wrong to keep the HC in the first place. But the Jets are all-in on QB Aaron Rodgers, and it seems likely after last week's awkward exchange between Rodgers and Saleh was caught on camera that there is more to the story here. For now, not much changes for New York's offensive playmakers. This is still Hackett's offense being steered by Rodgers. Unless we hear reports about Saleh impacting the direction on offense, there does not appear to be any immediate fantasy impact for the offensive side of the ball.
