Marquez Valdes-Scantling (neck) nearing return

by Jordan Epp | Bills Correspondent | Thu, Aug 22nd 2:52pm EDT

Buffalo Bills WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who is dealing with a neck injury, has a good chance to return for Buffalo's season opener, says head coach Sean McDermott. (Alex Brasky on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

McDermott said that he believes Valdes-Scantling is nearing a return from what he's heard from the Bills' trainers, though the coach would not commit to the WR's Week 1 availability. The veteran wideout is dealing with a kneck sprain he suffered in Week 2 of the NFL preseason and is currently considered week-to-week. Valdes-Scantling is expected to have a role in the offense as a deep threat, likely filling some of the role left behind by Gabe Davis, though it may be a more important real-football role than a fantasy-conducive one.
