Chris Godwin has been standing out early on in camp and earning high praise from his teammate, Mike Evans.
Fantasy Impact:
Godwin hasn’t repeated his magical 2019 season, which Evans referenced when talking about Godwin to the press. That’s not to say he’s been bad since then, he’s had three consecutive seasons of at least 127 targets, 83 catches, and 1023 receiving yards. His downfall has come from a lack of touchdowns. He’s had a combined 10 in three years, compared to Mike Evans's 13 scores just last year. It sounds like the coaching staff wants to get the ball to Godwin more this year in a variety of ways to maximize his skillset. He’s a great bargain in drafts right now given his upside.
