Smith being inactive comes as a surprise, as he is a healthy scratch. The fourth-year TE has struggled in 2023, only catching 18 passes in 12 games. He has also fallen behind in the TE rotation, seeing less than 25% of the snaps in his last two games. He is inactive alongside WR Ja'Marr Chase, HB Chris Evans, LB Devin Harper, C Trey Hill, OT D'Ante Smith and DT Travis Bell.
